Football Recruiting Starting Earlier and Earlier...

Many of you have heard of the basketball players being offered scholarships during their 8th grade season. It is truly amazing how much the "recruiting timetable" has moved up for young athletes. In other words, you can no longer wait until your senior year to get started on your college recruiting game plan. The sooner you get started with your college recruiting game plan, the more chances you will have to choose the BEST school for you.

Another example of how early college coaches are beginning to look at young athletes was recently discussed in this New York Times article.

One of the stories that stands out is about Reeve Koehler. Reeve is a 13 year old football player that has already been offered a scholarship by the University of Hawaii. Student-athletes, parents, I hope this tells you how competitive this process is and how important it is for you to start early in promoting your son/daughter to college coaches.
